The End of Alzheimer's: ReCODE (Reverse Cognitive Decline)

Your gut and your brain are in constant communication. When your gut is inflamed, it sends distress signals directly to your brain — and you don't have to accept that as normal aging.

Have you ever noticed that when your digestion is off, your thinking isn't quite as sharp? Or that periods of high stress seem to immediately affect your stomach?

This isn't a coincidence. It's the gut-brain axis in action.

As a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P), I've helped clients uncover the root causes of their digestive issues. But recently, I've expanded my practice to address the other end of this critical connection.

I'm thrilled to announce that I am now a certified ReCODE 2.0 Coach, trained in Dr. Dale Bredesen's groundbreaking protocol for preventing and reversing cognitive decline for both men and women.

Why I Pursued This Training

For two reasons. First, because my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and then Parkinson's, and I wanted to help and support him. And second, because I kept seeing the same pattern: the clients who came to me with chronic gut issues—bloating, unpredictable digestion, fatigue—were almost always experiencing cognitive symptoms too. Brain fog, memory slips, difficulty focusing, and anxiety.

Conventional medicine often treats these as separate issues. You see a gastroenterologist for your stomach and a neurologist for your brain. But your body doesn't work in isolated silos.

The Gut-Brain Connection

The ReCODE (Reverse Cognitive Decline) protocol identifies different factors that contribute to cognitive decline. And one of the most significant factors? Gut health and systemic inflammation.

When your gut is inflamed or "leaky," it sends distress signals directly to your brain. This chronic "gut-brain inflammation" is a primary driver of what Dr. Bredesen calls Type 1 (Inflammatory) cognitive decline.

Over the next few weeks, I'm going to share exactly how your gut and brain communicate, why this connection is critical as we age, and how we can use functional lab testing to protect both your digestion and your cognition.

You don't have to accept brain fog or digestive distress as "just a normal part of aging."

Weekly Brain Tip

Book Recommendation: The End of Alzheimer's by Dr. Dale Bredesen.

If you want to understand the science behind the ReCODE protocol and why cognitive decline is not a life sentence, this is the foundational book to read. It completely changes the paradigm of how we view brain health.
